‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ on Track for a Record-Shattering Opening Weekend
Box Office Pro shared its initial predictions for how well Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day will perform at the domestic box office in its opening weekend. The outlet projected that the MCU sequel could earn anywhere from $230 million to $250 million in the United States this weekend. This comes after Deadline predicted an opening weekend of $180 million to $190 million domestically. While Deadline’s is the lowest of any major trade outlet, it would still give Brand New Day the biggest opening weekend of any movie this year, and Box Office Pro’s numbers would fall only $10 million short of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home on the high end.
