Zack Snyder’s Warner Bros. Return Ignites Talk of DC’s SnyderVerse Revival
Before DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DC Universe, that responsibility largely belonged to Zack Snyder from 2013 until 2021. Involved in nearly every movie from the former DC Extended Universe, he directed 2013’s Man of Steel, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and some of 2017’s Justice League, although he left the production after his daughter’s tragic death and exhaustion from conflict with Warner Bros. over the movie. He also had producer or executive producer credits on 2016’s Suicide Squad, 2018’s Aquaman, and both of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman movies.
