Man of Steel and Rebel Moon director Zack Snyder has long had a reputation as a divisive filmmaker, but his new action thriller has seemingly done the impossible and has everyone in agreement: it’s a bad movie. Following a divisive tenure as the head of the DCEU, and several divisive sci-fi epics on Netflix, Snyder now brings a more grounded action thriller war drama to screens with The Last Photograph, which has now made its long-awaited debut at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival after decades in the making.
