Warning! Spoilers ahead for House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 3, “Rhaenyra Triumphant.”House of the Dragonis HBO’s first Game of Thronesprequel show, an adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s in-universe history book Fire & Blood. In both the book and show versions of the tale, the characters of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) — two leaders on opposite sides of the conflict — are crucial, but the show places them nearer the center of the story. For instance, House of the Dragon Season 2 adapted a stretch of the book where Rhaenyra and Alicent are in different locations, but because their relationship is so important in the show, the writers apparently felt the need to write a couple of scenes where they came together.
