What Happens to House Velaryon by the Time of ‘Game of Thrones’?

This is obvious; by and large, only those with Targaryen blood can ride dragons, and if you have a couple of dragons in your corner, there’s not much you can’t get away with. But the second most powerful house in Westeros is House Velaryon, led by Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint). They’re the richest house in the Seven Kingdoms, and have the biggest navy.
