Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey may have conquered the global box office (with help from the well-timed release ofSpider-Man: Brand New Day), but in one of the strangest sustained hate campaigns of recent memory, one of the film’s most vocal critics isn’t ready to let the debate die. Just weeks after penning a scathing review of the Oscar-winning director’s adaptation, acclaimed classicist and translator Emily Wilson (whose own translation of Homer’s epic poem is one of the most widely read English language versions available) has doubled down on her criticisms of the film.
