‘The Odyssey’ Dethrones ‘Spider-Man’ for Massive Box Office Record as the Blockbuster Battle Continues
For much of the summer, two films have stood above the rest at the box office. Christopher Nolan finally made his Homer epic and turned a 2,700-year-old poem into one of the season’s defining events, while Sony and Marvel brought Tom Holland’s Peter Parker back after a four-year wait and watched audiences turn out in massive numbers. The two releases have spent the past couple of months in a comfortable coexistence, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day dominating the top of the charts and the IMAX exclusivity sitting just behind it.
