Korean cinema has become an early obsession for many film fans looking to broaden their horizons. While I grew up obsessed with Asian cinema, my love for Korean film came a bit later, won over by watching The Host when it was released in 2006. Little did I know director Bong Joon Ho would become one of the most acclaimed filmmakers in the world and break records, with Parasite becoming the first non-English-language movie ever to win Best Picture in the Academy’s then 92-year history.
