Until recently, very few historical war epics on television have lived up to the standard Band of Brothers established 25 years ago. Series like The Pacific, Generation Kill, and Masters of the Air have rivaled Band of Brothers‘s legacy, mostly thanks to their expensive budgets, cinematic production, and sprawling scale, all of which plunge viewers into the brutal battlefield alongside the characters. None of them fully reached the heights of HBO’s miniseries though — that is, until FX’s acclaimed and award-winning historical drama arrived on the scene in 2024.
