Star Wars’ New ‘Episode IX’ Jedi Sequel Creatively Solves Massive Franchise Problem
The Star Wars sequel trilogy got off to a great start with 2015’s The Force Awakens, but it rapidly went downhill from there. 2017’s The Last Jedi is still looked upon very poorly by much of the fan base, and 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker remains mocked to this day for its overly convenient and confused plot. All three installments were incredibly profitable for Disney, and I’m convinced that the generation of fans the trilogy welcomed in will re-popularize the movies in the years to come. However, the immediate impact on the franchise has been glaringly obvious.
