Spider-Man: Brand New Day made a strong case against superhero fatigue over the weekend with a massive $932 million global debut, which immediately pushed it up the ranks of the all-time highest-grossing film openings. That list is also topped by four MCU films, with Avengers: Endgame still undisputed at $1.2 billion. That does not diminish Brand New Day‘s impressive feat, as it now ranks second after beating Avengers: Infinity War ($640.5 million) and Spider-Man: No Way Home ($600.5 million). Brand New Day is still a long way from becoming the highest-grossing film of all time, but in only three days, it has well surpassed another superhero franchise’s final installment.
