While Rogue One is now remembered as the best modern Star Wars movie, director Gareth Edwards’ 2023 sci-fi follow-up failed to make the same impact at the box office. However, the film is officially making its comeback as one of the biggest movies on streaming globally. Rogue One was something new for the Star Wars franchise: an original movie not closely connected to the Skywalker saga and, most importantly, it didn’t feature a single Jedi. But when Edwards tried doing something similar in 2023, albeit without the Star Wars brand, the movie flopped completely. It’s a shame, because it’s a visually stunning and action-packed sci-fi thriller.
