Having written about horror movies and TV shows for almost two decades now, I always take devilish delight when a small-screen project delivers genuinely unshakable nightmares on par with cinematic greats. Some all-time episodes seared in my brain include Tales From the Crypt‘s “And All Through the House,” John Carpenter’s “Cigarette Burns” in Masters of Horror, and most recently, “Beach Reads” in the Apple TV series Widow’s Bay. However, none of them hold a candle to the monstrous folk-horror tale in Ridley Scott‘s acclaimed anthology thriller series.
