TheScreamfranchise has had a storied run that has seen its share of controversy in recent years. Following Wes Craven’s death in 2015, it was unclear what direction the lucrative horror series would take. A fifth film was made in 2022, over a decade after Craven’s last installment in 2011. Scream‘s originator, Kevin Williamson, returned to produce, and new characters were introduced, including Sam Loomis, played by Melissa Barrera. The new character also allowed one of the original killers, Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich), to come back in Sam’s imagination.
