ON THE MOVE: Clear Street Hires Vito Laurenzano; Christopher Limentani to BMO

Vito Laurenzano has joined Clear Street as Managing Director of Broker-Dealer Sales, reporting to Chris Tufano, Head of Clearing. According to LinkedIn, he spent 33 years at Bank of America, where he led broker-dealer sales and clearing solutions across Global Markets & Banking. In addition, Lou Caramanica has joined as Managing Director focused on Clear Street’s broker-dealer client offering, also reporting to Tufano. He brings 34 years in broker-dealer clearing, prime services and financial technology, most recently at Goldman Sachs as Global Head of Prime Services Custody and Platform Engineering, where he built and scaled the firm’s global clearing platform across multiple asset classes.

Christopher Limentani has joined BMO Capital Markets’ Cash Equities team in London, specialising in Electronic Trading, according to his post on LinkedIn. Limentani brings more than 20 years of experience across equities, electronic trading and execution services. He joins BMO after serving as Head of Trading at Devon Equity Management for more than six years, where he oversaw trading strategy and execution for the investment manager. Prior to to that he spent nearly five years as an Equity & Derivatives Trader at BlackRock.
Commodity Futures Trading Commission has appointed Donald Battle as Chief Data Innovation Officer, serving in the Division of Data and as a member of the Innovation Task Force. According to a press statement, Battle joins the CFTC from the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he most recently served as a senior advisor to Commissioner Hester Peirce on the agency’s Crypto Task Force and on detail from his role as assistant director in the Enforcement Division’s Data Science Group. In addition, J Matthew Haws has joined the CFTC as senior advisor in the Office of the Chairman and as the Chicago Regional Administrator. Haws brings more than 13 years of experience advising global financial institutions. He most recently served as senior legal counsel at Marex.
Grayscale has announced the appointment of Steve Vanourny as Head of Index. In this newly created role, Vanourny will report to Chief Executive Officer Peter Mintzberg and join Grayscale’s Leadership Team. According to a press release, most recently, Vanourny served as Head of Product Development and Strategy at ProShares. Earlier in his career, Vanourny also held senior leadership roles at State Street, including Global Head of Investment Analytics and Global Head of Strategy.
CloudMargin has appointed Nico Busch as Chief Product Officer, according to a press release. Busch joins CloudMargin after serving for nearly four years as Product Manager and later Head of Product at Xceptor, a global provider of data automation for financial institutions. He was previously CX (Customer Experience) Manager at Digital Asset.
