Netflix’s impressive catalog comprises not only original films and series but also remakes and adaptations of classics. While the streaming platform’s latest limited series, East of Eden (starring Florence Pugh), is the most recent example, another recent reimagining and adaptation of a beloved book series found plenty of success. Little House on the Prairie was a television show before, but Netflix gave the frontier drama new life with a new cast and a story with modern sensibilities. It proved to be a massive success as well, debuting with 6.4 million views. Now, capitalizing on the hit, Netflix renewed it for a second season.
