According to Variety, Michael Weatherly is set to return to his iconic role as Special Agent Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo for a season-long arc in NCIS Season 24. These will be his first episodes in the original NCIS show since his cameo in Season 21, Episode 12 (2024), and his first time playing a regular role on the show since he departed in Season 13 (2016). It also comes after he played the leading role in the NCIS: Tony and Ziva spin-off on Paramount+ alongside Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David, which was canceled after its lone 10-episode season debuted in 2025.
