Of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, it seems the Blade reboot was the most difficult. Announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, the film was set to star Mahershala Ali, who had pitched the film to Marvel Studios after winning his second Academy Award for Green Book. Yet seven years since the announcement, Blade is nowhere to be seen, with the extent of his MCU involvement being an off-screen voice cameo at the end of Eternals and a variant in Marvel Zombies. Fans have held out hope for years that the movie still could happen, but it appears Ali has delivered the final nail in the coffin.
