Kelly Osbourne has spoken out about her mental health and extreme weight loss after the death of her father, Ozzy, and also claimed that one of his friends introduced her to cocaine.

The heavy metal icon, solo star and Black Sabbath frontman passed away on July 22 2025 aged 76, just weeks after Black Sabbath held a star-studded final show there dubbed ‘Back To The Beginning’.

Already there has been the first ever “Ozzy Day” held in his Birmingham hometown exactly one year after his passing. This saw fans show up to pay their respects, a brass band performing Black Sabbath classics, and the mechanical “Ozzy The Bull” statue in New Street station being decorated with the singer’s iconic glasses.

In the time since his passing, his daughter Kelly has batted off critical comments online about her weight loss – after being seen looking noticeably different at his funeral service and at various red carpet events.

“To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right,’ my dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can,” she said in an Instagram video in 2025.

“The only thing I have to live for right now is my family, and I choose to share my content with you and share the happy side of my life not the miserable side of my life. So to all those people: fuck off.”

Now, in a new interview with The Mail on Sunday, she has opened up about how she now is more aware of how grief has affected her mental and physical wellbeing, and admitted that she “couldn’t see what other people saw because I was in so much pain”.

“All I saw was a broken person,” she shared, adding that she only started to notice her drastic weightloss after seeing a photo of herself at the 2026 Grammys.

“All I saw was a broken person,” she added. “I looked like the fucking Crypt Keeper… I said, ‘This is scary – I didn’t know I looked like this.’ My spine – you could see every single bone.”

Also in the interview, Kelly shared that she had dealt with “anticipatory grief” for a decade due to her father’s worsening health, and shared that she started wearing wigs that would cover the side of her face so that people “couldn’t see how skinny” her cheekbones were.

Kelly has spoken out about comments regarding her appearance previously too – sharing that it felt “cruel” to see people talking online about her weight after she attended the 2026 BRIT Awards.

“I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanised in such a way,” she said at the time.

Earlier in 2025, she also hit out at the “fat-phobic” world, saying that people online gave her “more shit for being fat” than for being a drug addict.

As well as opening up about how grief has affected her weight, Kelly has also spoken about her previous struggles with drugs – claiming that she was introduced to cocaine by one of her father’s friends.

She shared the comments in a documentary called If These Walls Could Rock, which is about the Sunset Marquis hotel in Los Angeles.

“I did my first line of cocaine in this hotel,” she shared in the documentary. “Which was given to me by one of my dad’s friends in a very, very, very big band.” While she didn’t name who the person was, she did share that she kept the incident a secret from her parents because “because they would fucking kill him” if they found out.

In other Kelly Osbourne news, the presenter and television personality has also received an apology from Dee Snider for his comments about her late father, and also called off her engagement from ex-Slipknot’s Sid Wilson – a move that her brother Jack said has put her in a “happier place”.
