DC Studios may have had a bumpy road this past year, but the newly minted Skydance subsidiary seems to be finding a clear path forward. After the disastrous release of the summer blockbuster Supergirl, which saw a short run in theaters after poor reviews and even worse box office, the studio, helmed by co-chairmen James Gunn and Peter Safran, found success with its next project. The HBO series Lanterns, starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, set viewership records and also earned plenty of critical acclaim through its eight-episode run. Now, with their next film Clayface set to premiere in a week, the focus will soon shift to James Gunn’s next project, Man of Tomorrow.
