Few authors have conquered Hollywood like John Grisham. His legal thrillers have spawned nine feature films that pulled in hundreds of millions at the domestic box office. While not every one is a courtroom drama, with Christmas with the Kranks standing alone as a comedy, the legal thrillers remain his calling card. And he isn’t done yet: a new television adaptation of The Rainmaker hit USA Network in 2025, and a tenth feature, The Partner, is now in development at Universal with Tom Holland starring and Jason Bateman directing, the first new Grisham movie adaptation since 2004.
