‘Harry Potter’ Reaches Major Milestone 5 Months Before a Franchise Reset
2026 is a major year forHarry Potter. 25 years after Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was released in theaters, the franchise is getting a full-fledged reboot, this time as an HBO series. Now, regardless of whether one thinks Harry Potter needs or deserves a reboot (in this writer’s opinion, it doesn’t), it’s hard to deny how monumental the franchise was and still remains. Today, July 15, 2026, marks the fifteenth anniversary of the release ofHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2, effectively ending the franchise’s golden age.
