Fox Officially Buys Popular Streaming Service for $22 Billion
Over the last decade, the streaming world has undergone more than a few evolutions, with some of the biggest media corporations in the world hoping to grow their businesses beyond the confines of movie theaters and traditional cable TV. The turn of the 2020s came with a couple of major updates in that arena, as Disney launched its own streaming service, Disney+, in 2019 before WarnerMedia Direct pulled back the curtain on HBO Max in 2020 (then rebranded as Max and rebranded back to HBO Max again). On top of that, companies like Disney and Warner have also made major acquisitions of companies they did not originally create as well.
