Tom Clancy’s legendary action hero, Jack Ryan, has a rich history on the screen, having evolved from a bookish CIA analyst into a seasoned operative. Five different actors have portrayed the iconic character, anchoring an expansive legacy that spans multiple blockbusters, a four-season series, and a follow-up feature film. John Krasinski successfully revitalized the franchise when he took over the role in 2018, starring in the first season of Prime Video’s Jack Ryan series. The immense popularity of the show prompted Amazon MGM Studios to greenlight a movie, Jack Ryan: Ghost War, which was released globally as a streaming exclusive in May. No further expansions were announced beyond that, but fans needn’t worry, as the best Jack Ryan movie came out 32 years ago – and it is now set for a new release more than three decades later.
