It’s still hard to think of any actor other than Chris Evans as Captain America, but the MCU started setting up his replacement as far back as Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It felt like a toss-up between Bucky and Sam at one point, but when Steve entrusted his shield to Sam in Avengers: Endgame, fans knew he truly deserved it. We’re stoked to see Steve returning in Avengers: Doomsday, though, and Evans is evidently ecstatic. After all these years, you might assume he sees Steve Rogers as his dream role, but as it turns out, that isn’t the case.
