BlackRock’s Louise Kooy-Henckel Takes on Expanded Role
BlackRock has expanded the responsibilities of Louise Kooy-Henckel, who announced on LinkedIn that she has been appointed Global Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions.
“I am excited to share that I have taken on an expanded role at BlackRock – now serving as Global Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions,” Kooy-Henckel wrote.
“I look forward to further developing BlackRock’s Sustainable & Transition platform globally.”

Kooy-Henckel has served as EMEA Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions since January 2025 and has been with BlackRock since the beginning of that year.
In her expanded role, she will be responsible for the firm’s sustainable and transition solutions platform globally.
She brings more than three decades of investment management experience to the position.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Kooy-Henckel spent nearly seven years at Wellington Management as Managing Director and Investment Director for Sustainable and Impact Investments in EMEA.
Before that, she spent more than 19 years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in global equities roles, including as Managing Director.
Earlier in her career, she held positions at State Street in both Australia and Germany.
Beyond her executive responsibilities, Kooy-Henckel serves as a trustee of the JPMC UK Retirement Plan and is a non-executive director at Pensions for Purpose.
The appointment comes as BlackRock continues to expand its focus on technology, private markets and long-term investment solutions.
In his 2026 annual letter, CEO Larry Fink said the firm entered the year with a record $14 trillion in assets under management and outlined ambitions to generate more than 30% of revenue from private markets and technology by 2030.
