The 1980s were over before I was even born, yet I’ve spent an unreasonable amount of time watching TV from that era. I’m a ’90s kid, so I discovered most of these shows long after their original runs ended, without the benefit of nostalgia or watching them with my family. And honestly, that makes their staying power even more impressive. When a show made four decades ago can still make me laugh, care about its characters, or immediately press play on the next episode, it has clearly done something right.
