6 Years Later, Prime’s Sci-Fi Masterpiece Still Tells a Perfect Time Travel Story
There is a genius somewhere in Sweden. Call him the Theodor von Holst or Émile-Antoine Bayard of our generation. His name is Simon Stålenhag, and he specializes in retro-futuristic digital art. His artwork tells brief stories, mainly set in the Swedish and American countryside, with plenty of retro sci-fi elements. Recently, Stålenhag’s graphic novel The Electric State was adapted into the 2025 Netflix film of the same name, which was directed by the Russo Brothers. Before that, his artwork inspired the Prime Videosci-fi series Tales from the Loop.
