The list is intended to familiarize fans, both new and old, with the parts of the MCU that will be relevant in the upcoming addition to the Avengers franchise. It isn’t just limited to Marvel movies originally intended to be part of this massive shared continuity, which began with 2008’s Iron Man. It also tells people to watch two pre-MCU installments: 2000’s X-Men and 2003’s X2. The reason for this is pretty obvious. It’s already been confirmed that the Avengers: Doomsday cast is recalling actors from those Fox-era X-Men movies to reprise their roles.
