Christopher Nolan’s decision to use modern dialect as opposed to a more antiquated way of speaking in The Odyssey was considered controversial by reactionaries seeking to boycott the movie, but it was a truly inspired choice. It also resulted in a number of truly memorable quotes, as Nolan’s script is loaded with hard-hitting one-liners that accentuate the gravity of the events that unfold.
