Mike Flanagan‘s new Stephen King adaptation is rapidly approaching, with Carrie getting an October 7 release date and official trailer at San Diego Comic-Con. The Prime Video show’s footage is already setting it apart from the prior takes on King’s first published novel (and there have been several). This isn’t too much of a surprise, as Flanagan has already teased the ways he’ll be shaking up this story. The new series will modernize it, bringing Carrie’s narrative into the present day, and it promises to focus more on the lore behind her telekinesis.
