I don’t think I’ve ever managed to watch just one episode of Law & Order: SVU. I’ll put on an old favorite because I want something familiar in the background, and before I know it, three more episodes have played, and I’ve completely forgotten whatever I was supposed to be doing. There’s something incredibly rewatchable about the show’s first decade. The cases are compelling, Benson and Stabler are operating at their peak, Munch is still cracking jokes before being sidelined, and the writers aren’t settling into repeating themselves.
