Kraftwerk announce two huge UK gigs in run-up to Glastonbury 2027

Kraftwerk have announced two huge gigs, each taking place in the UK next summer slightly ahead of Glastonbury.
The pioneering German electronica band will bring their epic live shows to the UK next year, performing outdoor shows at Halifax’s Live at The Piece Hall concert series on June 22, and at Cardiff Castile as part of the DEPOT Live series on the following night (June 23).
For the Cardiff summer series, the group joined an already stacked bill that so far includes Sonny Fodera, Ronan Keating, Blue, James Morrison, Jack Savoretti, and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.
For the Halifax show, they are also the latest artist to be added to the summer series, joining Rick Astley, Kaiser Chiefs, Suki Waterhouse, Angine De Poitrine, Rudimental and more on the 2027 line-up
“Kraftwerk really are true pioneers of electronic music so we are thrilled to be welcoming them to Cardiff Castle,” said Nick Saunders, DEPOT Live founder. “To have secured one of just two UK dates will make this a truly memorable occasion and one which will attract both our loyal audience as well as people who will want to travel to be part of this moment.”
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday October 23) at 10am BST. Visit here for tickets.
Both UK dates come around the time that Glastonbury Festival returns to Worthy Farm for its 2027 edition, following a fallow year this summer.
The iconic festival will run between June 23 and 27, and while no artists have been officially announced yet, rumours are already swirling about who will be in the country around the same time that things kicks off.
Early bookmakers’ favourites for headliners include Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Harry Styles, Radiohead, Fontaines D.C., Muse and The Rolling Stones.
Both Sam Fender and Harry Styles’ recently announced 2027 tours that leave a gap over Glastonbury weekend, while Fontaines D.C. currently have the Friday (June 25) open ahead of their two huge shows at Slane Castle. Speculation around The Rolling Stones has also continued and Ronnie Wood recently told NME that he would play at the festival “at the drop of a hat”, although he admitted he did not know whether his bandmates felt the same way.
Robbie Williams, meanwhile, announced outdoor shows for the week immediately after Glastonbury, fuelling suggestions that he could be in line for the Sunday Legends Slot. Other names speculated for the 2027 line-up include Tame Impala and Angine De Poitrine.
Although nothing will be confirmed until the line-up poster drops next year – usually around March or April – two major names have already been ruled out. This comes as organiser Emily Eavis dismissed speculation around Madonna, saying: “No, it’s definitely not Madonna”, and also responded to calls for Oasis to headline with: “Not this time!”
Glasto 2025 was headlined by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, and other major performances came from Charli XCX, Wolf Alice, Rod Stewart, Doechii, RAYE, Kneecap and Pulp.
