Stephen King‘s reputation as a prolific writer is well-earned, as he’s published roughly 70 novels and more than 200 novellas and short stories in his 52-year career. He’s most frequently (and justifiably) recognized as the modern godfather of the horror genre, but his greatest masterpieces span a variety of genres. His magnum opus, the Dark Tower series, blends horror, sci-fi, and western elements into its fantasy foundation, for example.
