Although James Gunn is more widely known for his superhero movies, the Guardians of the Galaxy and Superman writer/director does dabble in other genres. Conversely, any sequels he makes often come into existence pretty quickly after whatever preceded them. The original movie is usually also a James Gunn production. As such, a film currently showing in theaters is something of a deviation from the norm for him. With a Rotten Tomatoes rating currently at an impressive 96%, Coyote vs. Acme could very well be a follow-up to a beloved 1988 classic with which Gunn had no involvement.
