15 Years Later, Joel Kinnaman’s Forgotten ‘Mindhunter’ Replacement Remains a Hidden Gem
As a longtime David Fincher follower, one of the things I appreciate most about his groundbreaking crime series Mindhunter is how it avoids police procedural clichés by taking a much slower, more deliberate approach to its criminal profiling. Rather than blowing through a new case each week like most episodic procedurals, the simmering tempo builds tension that usually erupts with shocking results by the season’s end. It still stings that Mindhunter only had three seasons. However, there’s an ideal substitute starring Joel Kinnaman that not many people talk about anymore.
