Fat Dog share punk-tinged new single ‘Call It What You Want’ as they announce debut Australian tour and more UK out-store shows
Fat Dog have shared an intense new single called ‘Call It What You Want’, and announced more UK out-store shows and their first ever Australian tour.
The new single is the latest taster of their upcoming album ‘Cancel Me (I’m Tired)’, which is the follow-up to 2024 debut ‘WOOF’.
Already, songs ‘Go Fuck Urself’, ‘Shit Love’ and the title track have been shared from the album, which is set for release via Domino on October 2, and the album is set to be “an exhilarating, swaggering, panoramic, inventive, re-inventive, re-re-inventive electro-punk-art-pop-rock’n’roll-space-country triumph that deserves all the adjectives,” according to a press release.
Now, the band have dropped another taster of the album in the form of ‘Call It What You Want’.
The track is centred around rave-y synths and has strong nods to post-punk, and tackles themes of doubt, frustration and uncertainty. “That’s me looking at people in my family and their problems and thinking, ‘Is it gonna be the same for me? Is it in my DNA?’” frontman Joe Love explained about the track.
The video was shot at their Woofstock gig in Bermondsey last week, and you can check it out below.
To celebrate the upcoming album, Fat Dog are playing a number of instore and outstore shows around the UK, including stops at Rough Trade in Bristol, Liverpool, Nottingham, East London and more, as well as stops in Kingston, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Newcastle and more.
The band will also play a run of headline dates and festival stops before then, including shows in Belgium, France, Spain and England, before a handful of UK shows towards the end of the year.
Fat Dog have also now confirmed their first Australian tour to date, which begins in Brisbane on December 10, and continues with shows in Meredith, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth throughout the month. Visit here for tickets and find a list of shows below.

Before Fat Dog dropped their debut album, they spoke to NME for The Cover, where keyboardist Chris Hughes reflected on the huge response they get live and explained what makes them stand out.
“What we’ve got as a band is special. I hear things from my friends who are in other groups, and there just seems to be constant animosity elsewhere,” he said. “We get these moments where everything lines up: sometimes, we all look at each other on stage, and quietly recognise that we’re playing a really good gig. It’s an amazing feeling.”
‘WOOF’ was given a glowing five-star review from NME and described as “unserious, unhinged and sensational”.
