Forget Liam Neeson, Netflix is all set to unleash its own aged action hero in a brand-new streaming series. Thanks to the release of Taken back in 2008, the subgenre of elderly action heroes was truly born…despite Neeson only being 55 years old at the time. Regardless, the first Taken sparked an era of older action hero-led thrillers, including Michael Caine’s Harry Brown, Jackie Chan’s The Foreigner, Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer, and Jeff Bridges’ aptly named The Old Man, among others. Now, it’s Netflix’s turn to give a septuagenarian a particular set of skills.
