20th Century Studios released a new trailer for its upcoming Whalefall movie, based on the survival-thriller novel of the same name by Daniel Kraus, which was published in 2023. After the trailer establishes a somewhat tumultuous relationship between Austin Adams’ Jay Gardiner and his father, Josh Brolin’s Mitt Gardiner, the footage shows Jay diving into the ocean and being swallowed by a sperm whale that hunts a giant squid for food. From here, he is shown to have an hour of oxygen left in his tank, giving him only that amount of time to figure out how to escape and survive.
