Spoilers ahead for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4, Episode 3, “Human Best Friend.”Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 opened with an incredible time-travel epic a couple of weeks back, and then Episode 2 was equally great for different, horror-based reasons. The tonal whiplash was a welcome surprise and cemented the show’s status as one of the most versatile in the franchise. Episode 3, “Human Best Friend,” dons another genre hat, adopting a buddy comedy vibe centered around Ortegas (Melissa Navia) and Scotty (Martin Quinn). Well, at least it would be a buddy comedy if the two were buddies from the start, or if the episode were actually funny.
