Something odd happened to the Minions this year.Minions & Monsters, the 1920s Hollywood prequel that sent the little yellow chaos agents off to make a monster picture with monsters, ended up as the best-reviewed entry this franchise has ever produced. It also ended up as the lowest-grossing one. Critics handed it an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, a score no previous Despicable Me or Minions film has come close to matching, and audiences who showed up seemed to genuinely enjoy it.
