I feel confident recommending Silo to people who tell me they don’t watch science fiction. Not because it’s easy to binge, but because it’s the kind of show that earns its complexity through character rather than concept. Most sci-fi TV shows want you to be impressed by their world-building. Severance redefines workplace drama with its dystopian premise; Constellation fuses psychological horror and space trauma into something unsettling; Dark Matter offers a unique take on the dark matter theory. But Silo? Silo wants you to care about the people stuck inside it, and the gap between these ambitions is where most shows in the genre fall apart.
