Fatboy Slim brought out both Simon Pegg and the Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus for his performances at Big Beach Boutique 7.
The iconic British DJ returned to his hometown of Brighton over the weekend for three huge sold-out shows as part of the annual On The Beach shows.
At the performance on Saturday night (July 18), he surprised the thousands of fans on the seafront by introducing 50 members of the Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus for a surprise collaboration.
During their time on stage, the members of the choir wore matching pink shirts and sang an acapella version of ‘Right Here, Right Now’, before gradually introducing elements of the 1991 Nirvana classic ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.
Throughout, Fatboy Slim sat cross-legged on the floor smiling as they sang, and the choir were backed with the pride flag and the message “Only love can conquer hate”. The DJ then joined them to break out an intense rendition of ‘Right Here, Right Now’ complete with pyro and a laser show.
The following night, Fatboy Slim closed out the final day of the 2026 edition of Big Beach Boutique 7 by bringing out screenwriter and actor Simon Pegg out as a special guest.
Taking to the stage earlier in the day, the Hot Fuzz star broke out a surprise DJ set, complete with a backdrop that showed him pictured with aliens – a nod to his 2011 film Paul – as well as in outer space, and surrounded by iPhones holding up images of his face.
Footage from the official On The Beach Instagram page shows Pegg being joined by Fatboy Slim midway through the set, with the two of them hugging and holding their arms up to the crowd.

The 2026 edition of the Big Beach Boutique 7 took place shortly after Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, performed an impromptu set in Brighton as part of the ‘Carnival Against Fascism’.
The march was organised to show opposition towards anti-immigration demonstrations, which organisers said were planned by “racists in so-called ‘Patriots’ groups” who wanted “to come to our city, calling for ‘mass deportations’.”
“Never been more proud of my home town,” Cook later posted on Instagram, holding up a sign at the gathering which read: “More disco, less fascism”.
As well as festival appearances at Big Beach Boutique 7, the Everywhere At Once ‘Glastonbury replacement’ festival and more, Fatboy Slim also completed his ‘Acid Ballroom’ UK tour earlier this year.
