Michael, director Antoine Fuqua’s biopic about the late pop star Michael Jackson (Jaafar Jackson), has been breaking records pretty much since it first dropped into theaters on April 24, 2026. In May, it became the highest-grossing music biopic ever at the domestic box office. In June, it became the highest-grossing music biopic of all time anywhere in the world, besting 2018’s Bohemian Rhapsody. Now, The New York Timesreports that Michael has crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide.
