‘Social Reckoning’ New Look Confirms Belated Sequel’s Connection to 2010 Original
Near the end of a big year of releases in 2026, Columbia Pictures (under Sony Pictures) will deliver a new chapter of a real-world-inspired story with the release of The Social Reckoning. Following up on the events of 2010’s The Social Network, which was written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher, Sorkin will take on both roles for the next part of the Facebook-centric saga. This time around, the story will dramatize the 2021 Facebook whistleblower scandal, based on reporter Jeff Horowitz’s “Facebook Files” exposé, which included information from whistleblower Frances Haugen about the company’s misdeeds.
